Strategy
The Company's strategy is to create a diversified group of companies comprising niche businesses focussed on maximising shareholder returns. A key aspect of this involves the purchase of small, sometimes publicly quoted, companies in which the Directors see potential for growth.
By managing niche businesses within a single group, the Directors aim to:
- improve operational efficiencies and provide additional financial support where necessary;
- increase the size and diversification of the Group;
- reduce the risk associated with exposure to single operation.
The Board intends to continue to achieve these objectives in the following ways:
- by acquiring small companies with strong market positions, where lack of size or inclination to build their operations limits the prospects of future shareholder returns;
- by improving operations through the application of proven management skills and the provision of resources for future bolt-on opportunities;
- by using Group resources to build up critical mass in chosen niche sectors; and
- by enhancing shareholder returns and liquidity through the optimum financing of acquisitions.
